Clutches Eaten/ Kicked Off Leaves

Title really says it all!! My E. Anthonyii always do this when a clutch appears. I got a nice clutch of 11 eggs yesterday and today it is already down to 7. I am concerned because the last time I pulled a clutch, I placed it onto a petri dish with some water, put it into a plastic container, with a damp paper towel under the dish, and it dried out for some reason.

Any tips/ recommendations?
