Well, after researching and planning, I decided to make the jump into the hobby and create my first viv :) I went with what I had available, which was a old spare 10 gallon laying around (who doesn't have one of those? ;) ) I went pretty basic in terms of design, but I was able to find an interesting wood piece and use my own sterilized leaf litter (madrone) At this point all that's left to do is to find a couple small broms to put on the background, introduce isopods and springtails, and decide on a frog species while the tank grows in and gets established. So what I would like to know is what kind of frogs would be suitable for this tank? I've seen a lot about thumbs in 10 gallon setups, but it seems they prefer a vertical tank. Is there any that would live happily in this tank even though its a horizontal setup? Or possibly a different small terrestrial species? And what are some relatively hardy isopods/springtails I could introduce while the tank is getting established?
