new/first viv- temp questions

New to the forum, new to the hobby. So I've been lurking for a few days here after searching youtube videos and google for all sorts of info for the last few weeks about getting into pdf's and decided to jump in. I bought a tank(18x18x24 exo-terra) and started kicking ideas back and forth of what I wanna do inside and struck a problem I cant figure out. Keeping the temperature.

I have no control over the temperature in the apartment (studio) I live in.

I've been in my apartment since January so I know the highs and lows of the room but my problem lies in the winter months. When the heats on in the room its cranking 70+F but when its off i'd say it dips into the 50's. That's fine for me but I think without a lot of heating for the tank I cant see it happening for pdf's.

I was thinking maybe I'll just build it, throw a temp/humidity gauge in there and wait out this winter to see if I can keep a solid temperature in there BUT after reading a few articles on here about micro-ecosystems, would that be healthy for the pdfs? Would placing them into an established ecosystem make them sick vs building it and placing them in there right away so the pdfs and plant life "grow together."

If I do build it and stick some frogs in there could I get away with heat pads on the back? If I do a water feature of some sort should I do a water heater?
