This is my first dart frog vivarium that I just finished and planted two weeks ago.
I converted the Exo terra tank into a full glass top with a 1" horizontal screen vent at the back of the viv. (see pic)
My background is made with silicone, great stuff (blue can), cork flats, mopani wood and pods. It's covered in a mixture of Eco earth and tree fern fiber. I worked with NEHERP on getting my false bottom substrate and their ABG Hybrid substrate mix. I also purchased all of my plants, leaf litter and moss from NEHERP as well.
Plant List:
(Peperpma Caperata (Front Left), Lemon Button Fern (Back Left), Creeping Fig (Various Locations), Pepperomia Glabella (Front Center), Calisia Repens (Front Right), Ionantha Fuego (Back Left, Top), Tillandsia Bulbosa (Back Right, Middle), Tillandsia Tectorum (Back, Center), Dischidia ruscifolia (Various Locations), Neoregelia 'Wee Willy' (Left Side) and Neoregelia 'Mini Skirt' (Right Side))
It's been seeded with hundreds of temperate springtails, which are doing a great job and breeding like crazy. I am using two jungle dawn 11w led bulbs on a digital timer that comes on at 7am and turns off at 7pm. I also have an Exo terra Monsoon hooked up to a hygrotherm that keeps the humidity at 75% and the temp around 74 or 75 degrees. I'm going to let the plants and the micro-fauna acclimate and cycle for three months before adding my frogs.
Let me know what you think, thanks in advance.
