Southern Variabilis v.s. highland

I haven't really been able to find any solid answers on the differences between the southern and highland Variabilis. I'm not looking for the differences in what they look like or where they come from, but I would like to know if some breed more readily, which are more bold and any other behavioral differences you may have noticed.
