Does anyone know of a foam gun that the GS Pond and Stone will go into? Most of the guns I've seen only fit the screw on cans that are not the black pond and stone. If not maybe a different brand that is similar to pond and stone that can fit the gun?

Hello! I am new to keeping dart frogs, and am currently in the process of quarantining some plants for a vivarium. I'm excited to start setting up the vivarium, a twenty nine gallon tank.

My Current WIPs
Hey guys, I have a few projects on the go right now. They are taking longer because of the weather where in Canada, making it hard to get plants right now. I'm waiting on a big bromeliad shipment currently and some other goodies :) Anyways, here's what I have (uninhabited right now).
18x18x18. It is going to be home to a trio of oophaga pumilio 'popa'. I have a few bromeliads and film canisters in here, and the bromeliads will get larger as they age. It still needs one more med-large bromeliad in the corner though I reckon.

12x12x18. This is going to be home to a pair of some kind of thumbnail. Undecided as to what. Still needs a couple bromeliads, and I'm thinking about putting some kind of gobenia in there. Not too sure though. I'm generally not as happy with this one, but maybe I'll be more satisfied once there's broms to fill up the space.

18x18x24. This is my newest build, just started last week. I snagged a bunch of cool driftwood pieces for really cheap, and made a cool looking tree structure out of them. I also used black matala as the drainage layer to try something new. This is gonna be home to some kind of oophaga pumilio. Right now, I am thinking about salt creek. The philodendron I have in there right now will probably be switched out for philodendron verrucosum. There will be a few mini orchids in here later.

Lastly, I have an empty 24x18x24 that's just being used as a plant nursery. I'll be doing something with it later in the year. Thanks for looking, hope you guys enjoyed. I'll be updating this thread semi frequently

Fly-Proofing Exo Terras with Foam Weatherstrips
Hey All,
So like many of you I purchased and built an exo terra vivarium only to find out that once frogs were brought home and fruit flies introduced I suddenly had more flies running around my house than in the tank.
That being said, I did purchase some SiFly silicone strips off glassboxtropicals but after a few days of opening and closing the tank the glass doors started pulling the silicone and the strips became a mess. I know people have suggested using foam weatherstrips in the past so I thought I'd give it a try and share my results.
I ended up purchasing two kinds of strips. A 1.5mm dense foam strip and another thats a lot softer and 5mm thick. I used the 1.5mm strips along the left and right sides of the doors. I also cut the 1.5mm strips down the middle and used those thin strips along the lip ontop of the front plastic vent piece.
![]()
Next I used the 5mm strips on the glass underneath the black plastic bit that runs along the top of the glass doors. That way when the doors are closed the flies can't squeeze through the cracks along the top.

Last but not least I used the 5mm strips along the bottom plastic bits on the doors. You don't want these strips to get squeezed between the door and lip when the closed because that will put pressure on the doors. Instead I placed it just above the lip so that when the doors are closed they come over the lip and now flies can't climb over and under the doors.

Having to do this isn't ideal but since installing the strips I haven't had any escaped fruit flies so its worth it if you ask me. It does add a bit of bulk to the otherwise pretty sleek Exo Terra but it doesn't bother me that much. What do you guys think?

Does anyone use non mistking heads with their system? I feel like I’ve seen equivalent or better 1/4” push release type nozzles for equivalent pricing.

Dendrobates auratus eggs
Hi all,
I have 4 dendrobates auratus panama blue, I believe 1 male 3 female. They are about 2 years old now and I'm hoping for some more eggs soon. They laid 5 eggs last summer that I saw, which I removed and placed into a Petri dish with the recommended solution and care but unfortunately they all died. This may be because it was their first clutch but I don't want to kill anymore eggs they have this year. Any tips would be greatful. I believe my Viv and set up is perfect for them and they are all really healthy. I just need egg care tips that might not be on simple care sheets. Should I remove the eggs from the water bowl? Or leave them alone? Does turning them upsidedown kill them? Will the other females eat the eggs if I leave them? I really want frogletts this year!

How old is your Golden eye (milk) tree frog?
Hi all,
How old is your milk frog? Or the longest captive breed milk you know about? I think wild milks can live for 25 years!
I have 1 milk frog (Frog Marley) which I believe is female based on her 3" size and lack of noise. I bought her to understand how to care for frogs before buying my darts. I must have done something right as she is almost 7 years old now and Is very healthy and active. I was told they live about 5-10 years but they were still very new to the pet trade so it was an educated guess based on other tree frogs.
Also, I would like to get her a man and possibly breed them. However she has been alone for 7 years so would it be bad to introduce a mature male?

Plant suggestions
Need places to buy plants from. Pretty much all the big websites I know about are pretty limited in stock. So just need suggestions to buy from whether it be from online websites or from someone on here. Thanks!

I've discovered a one inch red centipede in my tank. I have no frogs yet but I am growing my isopods and springtails. Any advice on how I eliminate this critter?

Falling down the rabbit hole!
Hello everyone!
So for the better part of a year I have been really interested in building a paludarium. My original plan was the have vampire crabs with a small stream or waterfall feature entering to a pond with some colorful fish. So, somehow I end up here. I didn't really think about dart frogs are first because I figured they would be very complicated in comparison to the crabs.
Well as time went on I kept running into dart frogs and it got me split on the idea. I thought of maybe doing both the vampire crabs and darts but have read all the other posts about how that would not be a good idea. So now I'm leaning on getting the darts.
I have no previous experience with building enclosures and caring for them so I am just trying to get some research before this summer when I plan on beginning the build.
I was thinking of getting around a 30 to 40 gal that opens from the front from zoo med. I figured I would have a small pond with slopes on each side so there are no Corners in case the frogs some how fall in. The land would curl around the figure in a type of hill setting moving towards the back. A waterfall would push the filtered water back into the pond from the false bottom. Wish I was good at drawing it out. I guess looks are not important at this stage really. I just really want a paludarium rather than a vivarium The big question here is, with the way I described it would a pond big enough for fish with the slopes be ok with the frogs.
Aside from that question (which once answered I feel I could really move forward on this), what are some basically tips to get the ball rolling on this?
Thanks in advance for any help on this! I can't wait to start shopping my progress!

Excited to get started!
Hi all!
New here and just wanted to introduce myself. After years of doing tropical freshwater aquaria, I found myself wanting a new challenge. Unfortunately, due to a cross-country move, I had to gift all my fish, plants, and inverts away a couple of years back.
I wanted to avoid having to do that again, and so was looking for something that would satisfy my desire to create and maintain a whole ecosystem while remaining relatively easy to move (at least compared to aquaria) should the need arise. Enter dart frogs!
I've currently got my old 10 gallon horizontal set up with drainage, soil, live plants, and hardscape. I avoided doing an intense background so that any future frogs would have more space to roam around on the floor. Currently awaiting a shipment of springtails and leaf litter to seed the substrate.
I'm still undecided about whether I'm going to go with a leuc or tinc setup, but I think I've set myself up well to have either when the time comes. Just a matter of waiting for the viv to get established and getting FF cultures going (honestly this is the most intimidating part to me right now), but I'm so excited for the future!

Which supplements?
I've been reading various threads on supplements, and I think Rep Cal Ultrafine Calcium with D3 and Repashy Vitamin A plus would be two good supplements. Would those be fine or do I need to supplement another vitamin? It says to combine the Rep Cal Calcium with Herptivite when feeding, but I was thinking of not getting it since it uses beta carotene instead of preform vitamin A. Thoughts?

Dwarf cobalt tinc temperament
Hi all! I'm new to the hobby and had a question about the temperament of dwarf cobalt tincs. I've read that tinc females can get territorial/aggressive when in the presence of another male and at least one other female. Does this sort of behavior extend to all the tinc varieties (in particular dwarf cobalts)? Or have ya'll noticed differences between varieties in this regard? Thanks!
