It’s been a very long time since I’ve been here. I don’t seem to see any post for sales of frogs from members, is that not allowed anymore? Thanks in advance for the help.

New here
Just saying hello. I’ve had an Exo-terra large/tall (36x18x24) set up for a few months now with a successfully running waterfall and fully aquatic lower portion. Thus far the plants are doing wonderfully as well as the isopod culture (tropical white) and Caridina Davidii. Hope to add frogs soon!

From Yolo County to the Bay!
I only know of 2 local pet stores that sell DFs within Yolo County to the East Bay in CA. Those are East Bay Vivarium in Berkeley and The Serpentarium in the Elk Grove. Anyone know of others that I can add to my list?

New to frogs and vivariums
Hello everyone,
I am new to vivariums, paludariums etc but have some experience in aquarium/aquascaping.
Reason for me being here is to gather information and share about a project I have in mind which is to create a vivarium/paludarium with frogs.

"The Office"
This thread will be covering the build of two 18x18x24 Exo-Terra tanks that will live within my office.
In the future they house the following: (est. July 19')
- Dendrobates Tinctorius Azureus
- Dendrobates Tinctorius Green Sipaliwini
The builds main components will consist of the following:
- (2) 18"x18'X24" Exo-Terra Tanks
- (2) Spectral Designs 16" x 12" LED Lights
- Spectral Controller and Driver
- MistKing System
The plan is to create the tanks so they have a large available floor space, tanks will be drilled for drainage and glass tops will be added. They will be viewed mostly from the front, attempting to make them look like the same landscape carries between the two.
Thanks for taking a look and following along.

18x24 door
I had just bought an 18x18x24 zoo med terrarium that was preowned. It was in rough condition with the door off and top with holes in it. Im a little concerned for the door because it is missing pins to attach it to the tank. Im not sure if there is a place to buy replacement ones. If anyone has any other options to reattach the door, then Id be glad to hear.

IDing some ferns
Hi all,
I picked up some plants in the terrarium section of my local garden store but wasn't able to ID these two. I suspect they're both some kind of fern, but not sure, so I'm just curious about exactly what they are!

Stranger Things
I have recently found a spider, 2 slugs, and a weird thing growing on one of my logs in the tank that can only be described as green fuzz. It made me start to think. What is the strangest thing you have ever found in your vivarium but you did not put it in there intentionally? I have included a picture of the green fuzz.

New frogs only interested in hunting for springtails
So a week ago my 4 leucs moved into my first viv. All seems generally good as theyre active and about regularly.
Only minor concern is they seem totally absorbed with hunting for the springtails that have colonised the cork background so whilst I'm dusting and putting flies in for food, they generally ignore their availability in favour of being half way up the wall sniffing out springtails.
How long is this ok for and at what point does it become a concern, and is there anything I should do to encourage them to go for a more nutritious snack?

How to judge springtail/isopod population?
Plan on giving my tank about 6 weeks before I look into stocking, for culture growth and to let plants get established. How Will I know if my isopods and springtails cultures are successfully becoming established, though?

New to the hobby and the site
Hey, my name is Lisa. I wanna start making terrariums for my orchids and Im starting my first build with a 12x12x18 tank. Im using egg crate for the false bottom and want to glue rocks around it to hide the crate and build up the sides like a bowl to keep soil separate from the water feature. Ive spent some time learning the basics for terrarium builds but theres nothing like learning directly from people with experience so here I am. Right now Im looking for something I can use to glue rocks to rocks and wondering if I can use hot glue or silicone, or maybe something specifically made for the task?

Long-time lurker, first time poster
Hi all, I’m relatively new to the hobby. I’ve been lurking on dendroboard for almost two years now. All the advice and wisdom has helped me get started with a trio of auratus, and inspired me to go big with a 67 gallon viv build for some yet-to-be-acquired terribilis. I’m in the Pacific Northwest and have had some trouble finding many reputable breeders in Washington/Oregon. I’ll ask for recommendations in a more appropriate thread though. 🙂 Glad to be here, and thanks to everyone for all the help you’ve already given me!

can I put anything in a 7.5 gal?
I’ve got a 12” cube (Exo Terra) and I’m wanting to stock it. I have a lot of invertebrates already so I know they’re probably my only option but I thought it was worth seeing if there’s anything else.

Are these normal froglets??
Out of 5 froglets, these two have a funny bump in the tail area. Is this normal or is it a deformity?? They are 4 months out of water. Thank you in advance for any comments.

Mite?
A brom is flowering in one of my tanks. When taking a very close up picture I spotted a friend who is invisible to the naked eye. Any guess what he is? Just curious if he is one of those evil mites people speak of.
There are no frogs yet as I’m just letting the moss and plants grow for now. So I could co2 bomb it, but the springs and isopods are well seeded.
Anyways you can see him on the bottom of the flower in be blurry looking picture. The picture with my finger in it is for scale.

Acrylic Front Glass?
I know it's not recommended to put acrylic on the top with lights due to heat and warping issues. Would it work for the front glass? I'm about to take the plunge and build a tank using PVC boards. I would like to use acrylic for the front glass to cut down on weight as I would like to have a hinged door with a single pane of glass rather than 2 sliding glass doors. Lights are LED which really don't add more than one degree of heat in my other tank.
Any thoughts?

Hygrolon and epiweb background
Do you have any experience with hygrolon or epiweb?
I want to use it for the first time and make a background with hygrolon and epiweb. But I don't know how to stick hygrolon to epiweb. Any ideas?
Will 2x39W T5 be enough to grow moss from moss mix?
Thanks for help!

Tank Question
Hey All,
I had a general question on preferred tank dimensions. I did a search and the most common size seems to be 18x18x24.
When I first went out to find a tank I was sold on the zoo-med 18x18x24 tank as I liked the look of the single door clear view.
The more I research and look at tank scapes the more I lean towards the 24" width. Now I'm considering either 24x18x18 or 24x18x24 exo terra. My main thought with the 24" width is more floor space for a small water feature.
The end goal of this tank is a beautiful bioactive vivarium which will eventually house between 2-4 frogs. The plan is to go with Azurues but still looking at other novice frogs. I feel like with my last 10 years spent in reef aquariums I know how fragile these little creatures can be and just how important all there housing parameters are.
Has anyone gone from 18"-24" ? is the 6" alot better space for planting and scaping ? Anyone buy 18" and wish they went 24" ?
Thank all I will be starting a build thread once I pickup tank.

Design Advice
To prep for imitators, I definitely need to occupy more vertical space. More plants, definitely, but do you prefer artificial vine or driftwood, and why? Thanks!
